Administrative Division

The Administration Division of NIFFR is in charge of the day-to-day administrative activities of the Institute, which involve organizing and managing the Institute's activities through job designing, description and evaluation, establishment of structures and gCorridoreneral supervision of policy implementation.

All activities of the Division are geared towards ensuring optimum utilization of human and material resources to support the research policies of the Institute.

Such activities are carried out through the following Sections: Welfare Section, Establishment & Records Section, Works Section and School Section.

Activities Performed To Support The Institute's Research Mandate

  • Enhancing synergy and promoting staff service delivery capacity, competence and efficiency through the promotion of best practices, via the vigorous pursuit of the principles of SERVICOM and constant Human Resource Development within the framework of effective staff recruitment and posting modalities.
  • Application of the good management practice by staff of Admin and Accounts Divisions for smooth running of the Insitute.
  • Developing and coordinating strategies of programme implementation.
  • Improvement in management style for the smooth coordination of research activities.
  • Enhancing a stable research personnel system through the implementation of the Conditions/Schemes of Service of Research Institutes.
  • Provision of welfare services to entire research and non-research staff as a morale booster in the performance of assigned duties. Such services are rendered through the provision of housing, educational services, credit and thrift, sports and recreation, guest house facilities and pension services. 
  • Catering for the educational needs of staff children/wards to ensure qualitative education.
  • FishCreating necessary partnership with other research-related bodies and NGOs for the purpose of improving research activities.
  • Maintaining Guest Houses to accommodate visiting research scientists, while standard accommodation is provided for both research and supporting staff to create enabling research environment.
  • Taking care of Pre-Retirement Training and processing of retirement benefits.
  • Staff promotion to enhance the productive output of all staff.
  • Enforcing discipline to ensure compliance with laid down rules and regulations in order to attain the Institute's mandate expectations.
  • Staff training and development
  • Acquisition of land and landed properties required for the purpose of research activities within the Institute's mandate.
  • Interpreting policies in respect of job performances and entitlements of staff to encourage industrial harmony and consequent achievement of desired results in research.
  • Provision of mechanical services in respect of research vehicles and other heavy duty machines (graders, bulldozers and excavators).
  • Maintenance of residential houses, offices, laboratories, and other hardware.
  • Construction of ponds and other infra-structures for research purpose.
  • Provision of expert services on procurement strategies for the purchase of scientific equipment.
