History of NFFR, New-Bussa, Nigeria The National Institute for Freshwater Fisheries Research, New Bussa, formerly known as "Kainji Lake Research Project", was set up in 1968 by the Federal Government of Nigeria with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) was the executing agency, while the then Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources represented the Federal Government. |

Profile of the Executive Director
Dr. Aminu Raji was born on October 25th 1955 at Girei, Girei Local Government of Adamawa State to the family of Mall. Bamaga Raji Mrs. Aishatu Raji. He attended Mustafa Primary School, Yola, between 1962-1968 and Aliyu Mustafa Secondary School (now Aliyu Mustafa College, Yola) 1969-1973. He proceeded to North East College of Arts and Science Maiduguri (now University of Maiduguri) 1973-1975. |
